How do I clean a ring with a layer of white gold that is guilty?

I have a ring with a layer of white gold has tarnished How do I clean to make it shiny again? the only value that is sentmental or otherwise I just get rid of it. Ive tried toothpaste and baking soda and vinegar, nothing seems to work!

There is no overlapping of gold. gold overlay metal is passive and does not tarnish. Probably a galvanized ring. The ring probably has a coating of lacquer on the surface to protect the silver plating underneath. This lacquer is broken and allowed the silver to rust. The silver lacquer is why can not be polished with toothpaste. Silver is just one atom thick or so. It can be polished in any way. If this ring is worth sentimental, can lead to a jeweler to remove the lacquer and silver and resurfacing with a new level. The cost of this would be about $ 50 or less.
